Help Salt of the Earth fund projects for some of South India’s most disadvantaged communities
Salt of the Earth (SOTE) is a non-profit and volunteer-led charitable organisation based in Leicester, UK. The charity is overseen and managed by its Trustees, with expenses kept to a minimum and are paid for by Gift Aid tax rebates from HMRC. This means that every penny donated goes directly to the projects without any deductions.
Since it’s founding in 1988 our charity has raised over £5 Million for projects in Tamil Nadu, South India. We work with two partner Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) which were carefully selected. Projects are agreed with our partners during annual field visits by Trustees to Tamil Nadu.
The charity fund projects concerned with Water, Education, Health, Women’s Empowerment, People with Disabilities the Environment, Education and Job Creation . Our projects are designed with self-sufficiency and sustainability in mind and give villagers the tools and confidence to support themselves.
Help a family in a crisis, give the gift of growing organic foods, or help a child overcome malnourishment.
Sponsor a child living in rural poverty and help to keep them in education. Child sponsorship also funds health and livelihood incentives in the child’s village.
